Effective July 29, 2026
The Flex Pile ("The Flex Pile," "we," "us") is a free app for scanning, valuing, and showing off your Pokémon, Magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. The short version: we collect your email and the card photos you take — and we never sell your data or run ads.
We do not ask for your real name, mailing address, phone number, or payment information — the app is free, with no paid tiers.
When you scan a card, its photo is sent to Google's Gemini vision service to identify what the card is (name, set, and number). We then look up that card's details and market price from public trading-card databases — Scryfall (Magic), the Pokémon TCG API (Pokémon), and YGOPRODeck (Yu-Gi-Oh). Your photo stays yours and remains attached to your card in your collection. We use these photos only to run the app's features you'd expect — never to train advertising profiles or to sell.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Card photos are checked before a post can appear publicly. Signed-in collectors can report a post for review or block its author. A block immediately hides that collector's posts from the person who blocked them. Reports are reviewed so we can keep or remove the reported content as appropriate.
We use a small set of trusted service providers ("subprocessors") strictly to run The Flex Pile:
| Provider | What it does |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, secure photo storage, and login/authentication. |
| Google (Gemini API) | Identifies a card from the photo you scan. |
| Scryfall · Pokémon TCG API · YGOPRODeck | Public card details and market prices. |
| Vercel | Hosts and delivers the app. |
| Apple App Store · Google Play | Distribute the app and handle app-level diagnostics. |
We keep your account data and card photos for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove it — see below.
You can permanently delete your account from inside the app: tap the Account icon in the top-right corner, then tap Delete account. This immediately and permanently erases your profile, your posts, your card photos, your scores, and your rank. It cannot be undone.
Prefer email? Write to privacy@theflexpile.com from your account's email address and we'll delete your data for you.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise the core of these rights yourself with in-app account deletion, or contact us and we'll help. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
The Flex Pile is intended for users 13 and older (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Your data is stored with reputable providers using encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use The Flex Pile after an update means you accept the revised policy.
