The Flex Pile ("The Flex Pile," "we," "us") is a free app for scanning, valuing, and showing off your Pokémon, Magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. The short version: we collect your email and the card photos you take — and we never sell your data or run ads.
We do not ask for your real name, mailing address, phone number, or payment information — the app is free, with no paid tiers.
On iPhone, Apple Vision reads the card photo entirely on your device. The photo is not uploaded to Google, an AI provider, or a card-price service for identification. FlexPile sends only the recognized card text (such as a name and collector number) to our Supabase backend so it can match the printing in our catalog.
We then look up that card's details and market price from public trading-card databases — Scryfall (Magic), the Pokémon TCG API (Pokémon), and YGOPRODeck (Yu-Gi-Oh). If you add the card, its compressed photo is stored securely with your private collection in Supabase. Web users can use manual search; that path sends card search text, not a photo. Keep people, documents, and other private information out of card photos.
Adding a card to your pile does not add it to the public Flex feed. If you choose Share to Flex feed, other signed-in collectors can see your anonymous handle, the card photo, card identity, estimated value, and the time you shared it. You can remove it from the feed at any time without removing the card from your pile. Shared cards appear in the feed right away.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Signed-in collectors can report a post or block its author. Reporting a post hides it from the feed immediately, and we then review it and either restore it or remove it for good. A block immediately hides that collector's posts from the person who blocked them.
We use a small set of trusted service providers ("subprocessors") strictly to run The Flex Pile:

We keep your account data and card photos for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove it — see below.
You can permanently delete your account from inside the app: tap the Account icon in the top-right corner, then tap Delete account. This immediately and permanently erases your profile, your posts, your card photos, your scores, and your rank. It cannot be undone.
Prefer email? Write to privacy@theflexpile.com from your account's email address and we'll delete your data for you.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise the core of these rights yourself with in-app account deletion, or contact us and we'll help. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
The Flex Pile is intended for users 13 and older (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Your data is stored with reputable providers using encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use The Flex Pile after an update means you accept the revised policy.
